It looks nice on my CRT arcade monitor, but it's really meant for an HDTV setup in widescreen. After it worked perfectly due to the patch however. ![]() It's Street Fighter IV all over again! The player can use disabling plants like Stunion, E.M.Peach, and Stallia against inedible targets first to allow Chomper to deal more damage. In addition, Chomper is also generally inferior to Toadstool, which has a greatly increased range and can generate sun after digesting zombies as well as having the ability to devour Rodeo Legend Zombies whereas Chomper does not. Next year’s Souled Out looks set to be a strictly solo affair, though, with not a rapper in sight. “With the mixtape I was really writing and recording everything while high” “It’s been long enough and I wanted the people who are not familiar to get familiar.” With appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Black Hippy member Ab-Soul and Californian up-and-comer Vince Staples, the seven-track EP is led by the single ‘Bed Peace’, which sees Aiko plotting to swap the trappings of female pop stardom for a day in bed with a blunt and her lover (played in this song – and the John and Yoko-inspired video – by rapper/actor Childish Gambino). “The EP is a good mix of songs to get people familiar with my sound and what I can do, because a lot of them still haven’t heard the mixtape,” she says, explaining that while the album is “basically done”, she wanted to get some new material out this year while the final touches are being added. Now the dust has settled on that album, Aiko is preparing for the release next week of her first official EP, Sail Out, which she chose to put out as a stopgap before her debut album Souled Out appears sometime next year. Then when he recorded his part he let me come into the studio and hear the song all the way down.” “Of course I was like, this is great! I don’t even know why he called me, ‘cos I wasn’t gonna be like, ‘No, go back in and write something else!’ But it was great that he let me be a part of his verses as well. “Then I sent it to him and he loved it, and he just called me and rapped me his verses,” she remembers. “He played me a few things and that one really spoke to me, and we just hung out for the rest of the session.” Unusually for such a hugely anticipated and leak-prone album, she was even allowed to take the song away with her to continue writing and recording at her studio in Los Angeles. “I was there, I actually picked the beat,” she says, speaking over the phone from Miami, where she’s performing tonight as part of Drake’s Would You Like A Tour?. Unlike so many contemporary ‘collaborations’, Aiko and Drake’s duet originated in a face-to-face studio session. ‘From Time’ functions as the album’s emotional core, an eye-of-the-storm moment with Drake at his most Drake-ish, reflecting on missed chances and lost loves (like the now-immortal “Courtney from Hooters”) while Aiko plays it cool against his needy blubbering with the nonchalant dismissal, “I love me enough for the both of us”. Not that Aiko sees herself in this lineage, exactly, preferring to define her music more broadly (she uses the term “easy listening”, which perhaps isn’t meant in the Phil Collins sense) and naming soft-rock crooner John Mayer as one of her biggest songwriting inspirations.Īiko’s biggest break came this year with her show-stealing appearance on Drake’s third album Nothing Was The Same, where her cherubic vocal on album linchpin ‘From Time’ drew comparisons with Anna Wise, the singer whose innocent lilt helped define Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid m.a.a.d. That tape’s combination of sultry, weed-hazed beats, Aiko’s silky vocal and a sprinkling of starry guest spots (including Kendrick Lamar, Miguel and Drake plus, in true old school mixtape style, a couple of jacked verses from Gucci Mane and Kanye West) secured her a slow-burn hit, bubbling its way to underground success in the same year The Weeknd redefined the parameters of modern R’n’B. ![]() Signed by Epic at the age of 13, the Los Angeles native spent a decade waiting in the wings, singing with R&B boyband B2K and and recording almost 200 unreleased solo tracks before eventually stepping off the major label machine to write and release her debut mixtape, 2011’s smokily soft-focus Sailing Soul(s). Some of the reasons why repeated noise can occur include in-cam noise reduction and aggressive video compression applied by a video codec in a camera. Repeated noise is a condition when the noise remains the same (static and not changing) or almost the same in two or more consecutive frames while the scene content of those frames changes. To make your own editing life simpler it can be easier to just disable such in-cam noise reduction and let Neat Video handle noise reduction in post without any interference. Those tools do work really good, but an accurate noise profile that has been built for the specific video could do even better. Of course, this scenario has been taken into account when creating Neat Video and we have introduced special tools, such as Generic Profiles and Profile Check, to save a clip even if there are no suitable areas for profiling. The accurate separation of noise from details is not possible in this case and the final result will not look as good as it could if Neat Video was applied alone, without the preceding in-cam noise reduction. As flat areas have very little noise after the in-cam noise reduction, the program gets a sample that is not representative of the original noise that still covers the details. If you give Neat Video a clip that has been denoised by your camera’s built-in noise reduction, and so the featureless areas are already smooth, then the profiler will analyze those smooth areas and may get a wrong idea about the noise in that video. The program analyzes the noise taken from a featureless area without details to study the characteristics and intensity of “pure” noise. Cleaning in Post vs Re- C leaning after Camera NRĪs mentioned above, in order to separate noise from the image details Neat Video needs to analyze the noise present in the video. Once again, if the quality is important, then it is better to reduce noise using more sophisticated algorithms available in post. The profile-based separation allows making the entire frame clean while maintaining fine details. Once the program knows what kind of noise your video has, it turns on the filter and like a very fancy sieve separates that noise from the actual details. The process starts with analyzing noise present in the video and finding the noisiest areas within a frame. Unlike in-cam noise reduction, Neat Video’s algorithms reduce noise much more accurately, preserving fine details, and do that everywhere in the frame, not just in flat areas. Both loss of fine details and partial removal of noise do not look very good in the video. This produces relatively noise-free flat areas, but details, moving stuff and edges of objects remain covered in noise. A bit more advanced algorithms differentiate areas with details from flat featureless areas and apply stronger noise reduction in featureless areas. This often leads to the loss of fine details and somewhat artificial look of the image. The simplest noise reduction algorithms used in some cameras basically smooth out the image by averaging nearby pixels. Therefore if the quality of noise reduction is important, then doing it in post is potentially a good idea. ![]() So it can use much more complex algorithms to identify and eliminate the noise more accurately. Your computer has much more computing power and it has no strict time constraints. ![]() It will give you a quick noise reduction result, however, the quality of that noise reduction is limited by these factors. Which option to choose and why? We will discuss that in this article.įirst off, a camera processor has limited computing power and must get the work done in a very short amount of time. It may also be possible to combine these two. Another option is to apply noise reduction in post-processing. One possible way to achieve that is to use the in-camera noise reduction when available. Video with less apparent noise usually looks better. Regardless of the source, digital video noise can seriously degrade the visual quality of the footage. The noise is usually caused by a range of factors including low light shooting conditions, high sensor gain, electronic noise and interference as well as aggressive compression of video data. Digital noise appears as random pixels covering details in certain areas or the entire frame. ![]() In this particular case, we’ve set up Photoshop to be really efficient for the task that we will use it for.
